Sarah Carpenter

Sarah brings 15 years of teaching experience to Brookwood.  Most recently, she taught Spanish for nine years at Pingree School in South Hamilton, teaching  Spanish at a variety of levels. At Pingree, Sarah coached the varsity girls ice hockey and was named EIL Coach of the Year four times.  For nine years, she was also the head coach of the Pursuit team, an outdoor leadership program. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from Middlebury College followed by a Master of Arts in International Education Development from Columbia University, Teachers College. Her education background includes teaching a combined third-fourth grade, serving as a student advisor, history teacher, Spanish teacher at Cardigan Mountain School's Summer Session, an EFL Peace Corps volunteer teacher, facilitator and trainer and volunteer work for the Big Sister organization.  Sarah lives in Somerville with her husband, Gus, and their son, Patrick.
